There is a well trodden path of photographers evolving into directors either in the commercial world, motion picture world or for fashion film but new camera technology means it is easier than ever to shoot moving images and competition is fierce. So we have devised this masterclass to offer photographers a fast track to the top end of moving image creation with a hands on experience with the best equipment out there.

This one day intensive moving image masterclass is aimed at professional photographers, very experience amateurs and graduates who want a crash course with the best equipment and key techniques under the supervision of experienced, professional film makers.

The day will be overseen by our friends at Cinema Campesinos, a leading production house for commercial film projects. They will demonstrate some of the latest camera equipment including the Arri Alexa and Red Epic as well as Redrock kits for DSLR shooting. Participants will be given a chance to shoot in both director and DOP roles and also learn crucial techniques for sound recording including voice recording and synched playback.

While shooting you will also be able to experiment with a range of continuous lighting equipment supplied by our friends at 123 Lighting, including HMI, Dedo, Kino-flo and LED.

You will leave this class with a solid understanding of all the key techniques and equipment involved in shooting moving images so that you can undertake your next project with maximum confidence.

This masterclass runs from 10am to 6pm in the 125LIVE event space at 28 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DP with lunch and refreshments included. The class size is limited to just 10 people so that you have the maximum amount of time to shoot and plenty of opportunity to experiment with the equipment.
